KARI aka: Kare-Bear
I figured it was time to get to know the creative and organized minds that work in this crazy fun environment! I want to start with Kari simply because she has been around the longest and glaze would NOT be what it is today without her.
Kari has been a glazian for almost 13 years!! She took a short hiatus many years back while her husband’s job was in a bit of a transition, but we consider her a part of glaze since the very beginning. She has an unbridled enthusiasm for people, art, food, family, and life in general. Her positive ju-ju is contagious to those blessed enough to work by her side. Kari is the resident hand writing specialist. Her lettering is a work of art and adds beauty and elegance to every piece.
She inspires those around her to become better people by embracing the uniqueness in each guest and in each piece of art created. Having always dreamed of being an artist, Kari has had the chance to be in colorful environments while working retail, teaching at non-profits, and blossoming in customer service.
Kari can whip up a wicked jello and believes by adding ice-cream she can serve it as dessert. She prefers salty over sweet treats, but shares a cool spot with Cal (future glaze CEO) for glaze’s watermelon sherbet. This unique glazian can take sole credit for the addition of gourmet toast to the glaze menu. She not only convinced glaze to try it, but took it to the level by offering 14 different options of both sweet and savory choices.
This well loved individual loves to create samples, do writing on guest’s pieces, and toast toast! Although, she has no cool tatoos, we couldn’t love her more for being the most amazing snuggle bug of chocolate kisses on the dewy morning of a sun-kissed summer day stuffed with puffy heart hugs and cozy nutella filled butter nut gooey brownies of joy.

Scoops of Happy!
Did you know that we now offer 12 different flavors of Cedar Crest ice cream?? Last October we decided that Thiensville needed an ice cream parlor that was open year round. It seemed like a logical fit for glaze as we already had the Purple Frog space- this is the room in the front of the building we often used for our Wine & Dezign classes and adult parties. Because this room wasn’t always in use, we figured transforming it into a colorful ice cream parlor would open the doors to more traffic. In June of 2016, we re-opened The Purple Frog and introduced ice cream to the Village. We can still hold classes in the space, and we simply moved our adult parties up to the second floor of the studio.
Next week I will fill you in on all the different flavors and why we have discovered it’s so much fun to change them up!!
