I love the sun, but it’s still pretty chilly out there. I know the calendar says it’s spring, but I wish the temperature would say spring also.
We have had a very exciting few months. Our Wine and Dezign classes have really taken off. We truly enjoy teaching them every month and welcoming new painters to the class as well as having our regulars back. The newest piece is a star plate and cheese spreader. This is the first time we will be offerring a 2 piece set. It makes a great appetizer plate that can be put to use all summer.
The Wine and Dezign minis are happenning several times a week thanks to our Living Social special. We are thrilled to have been able to introduce glaze to so many new customers through this promotion.
glaze dayz summer camp registration began last month. We signed up oodles of kids for our fun classes the first day! We take registrations all summer as long as the classes are still available so take this opportunity to check out all the creative things you can sign your child up for beginning the middle of June.
Finally, we just attended our first glazian wedding! Most of the staff road tripped to Chicago for Connie and Ryan’s wedding. It was an amazing day. Connie was sooooo beautiful and the entire wedding event went spectacular! The highlight of the night for me was when Connie and Ryan sang. We have now recruited them to sing for our upcoming “Frog Fest” on June 24th. Remember to congratulate the bride on your next visit into glaze.
That’s all for now. Thank-you for your support as we continue to adjust to our new Thiensville location. We are really happy here and appreciate all the positive comments our wonderful customers give us regarding the new building!

I just love snowy days…it gave me a little time to catch up on a few things. One of those things would be creating new pieces for the very popular Wine & Dezign classes. Since starting these classes this past November we have had between 20-40 participants each month. January hasn’t let us down. The only difference is we opted to offer 2 different designz. This Wednesday we will be doing a square snowman platter with mini addittions for his hat, buttons and nose. The name of this piece is “Snowflake”. Thursday night will be “Cheers”. It’s a bright, fun and colorful wine glass and bottle platter. Between the 2 classes we have over 23 people signed up. The good thing is that we split it in to two different nights so there is still room for last minute sign-ups. In previous months we have had to turn people away. I don’t like having to tell people they can’t get in to a class.

In February we will be doing a large bowl instead of a platter. This piece is called “Sweetheart”. March brings a Shamrock theme and in April we’ll be introducing a cross platter. As long as the “exzitment” continues, we will explore different options and various shaped pieces to paint or fuse. What will remain the same is the good times we have during Wine & Dezign classes.

This month kicked off another class option called Wine & Dezign minis. The concept is similiar, only the piece and class size is smaller. You also get to choose your friends who come to the class as well as when you want to have it. All this information can be found on our website under “The Purple Frog.
Thank-you for your continued support in our new location. Next time I blog, I look forward to sharing another new event we will be launching in spring called “Eggz”. It involves an Easter Bunny and lots of eggs to hunt for…

Painting with Santa was a huge success!

Our first guests arrived shortly before 9am just as the elves finished preparing. We had a glass fusing station, an ornament creating and painting station in the Clayground, a face-painting station, and a cookie decorating station.

After the kids completed all the stations we were thrilled to introduce them to Santa. Joy from Shoot the Moon photography was there to take pictures. She really captured some special moments as the children shared with Santa what was on their Christmas lists. We served hot chocolate, spiced cider, mimosas, nachos, and cheese trays in The Purple Frog. Buddy the Elf did a great job welcoming the children and seeing that they were directed to the right stations.

Thank-you to the fabulous glazians for putting the event together and to everyone who participated and made our 6th annual and once again sold out event a fun time!

Here’s a pic from the event:

Hello friends! As you know November is around the corner and so is our opening weekend in Thiensville! Since our big announcement in September, we’ve been working hard to get the new place ready.

Along the way we have made some changes. Most notably we are no longer keeping Glaze in Cedarburg open until the end of the year. So if you want to come and say goodbye to the place with us, be sure to stop in on the last day we’re open for painting, Sunday, Oct. 31st, and be sure to stay for the Pumpkin Walk that evening from 5pm – 9pm. Glaze will be handing out Silly Bands!

Here are some other dates of note:

Monday, November 1st: Both Glaze locations will be closed so we can finish moving everything over.

Tues-Wed, Nov 2-3: Glaze in Cedarburg will be open for pottery pick up. After that you’ll have to go to Thiensville to pick your work up.

Thursday, November 4th: Thiensville location opens at 9am! Be sure to come by that night for Ladies Night Out, 4pm – 8pm

First of all, I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who stopped by. This past weekend was really great and you helped make it fun for us!

So, as mentioned in the last post, there was a bit of a surprise that was announced at the festival: We’re moving!

We’ll still have our original location in Cedarburg open until the end of the year, to help smooth the transition, and we plan to have our doors open in Thiensville in November. The new building is great; cozy but large with 3 floors of fun, and ample parking to boot! On the top floors is one large room that you can have a party in – it even has a small kitchen attached to it! For more about the new place, click here.

Here’s the postcard that we handed out during the festival:

Wow…is it ever hot! Fortunately it’s “cool” inside of Glaze. Phil installed a new floor/window air conditioner which pushes the hot kiln air straight out the window. Perhaps we are to blame for the heat? j/k

This weekend brings thousands of people to Cedarburg for Strwberry Festival. It’s a very exciting weekend. We try and plan fun projects for people of all ages to complete on the street. This year, I am excited to announce “Fusers”. They are 3″ square pieces of glass which can be decorated using glass “toppings”. We have had a blast creating samples so we are confident our customers will enjoy making them during the festival. The best part it they are only $5.00!!! That is amazing considering it’s fused glass, but we want everyone to be able to experience the fusing process and what better time than during a festival!

Our other super cool street project is going to be “Clay Creations”. They are also only $5.00 on the street. The kids are going to LOVE getting their hands into the clay in order to design a one-of-a-kind piece.

We will continue to offer our traditional thumbprint tiles, tatoos and face painting. The crowd will know you visited Glaze when they see your mardi gras beads. We will be handing them out at the studio!

Our Summer has started off ridiculously amazing with this year’s Glaze Dayz summer camp classes. The class to fill up first was “Little Divas”. I’m thrilled to announce that all three classes filled up the first few days of registration. I’m sorry to announce that we aren’t able to offer more of that class this year. We are, however, working on a similiar class to offer to the waiting list so look for an email on that in July.

Thank-you for your continued support. We look forward to celebrating our 5th Birthday with all of you in August!!! Stay cool.

Who-hoo! I am so super excited that this year’s camp classes are such a big hit! I can’t believe how many people signed up first thing Monday morning when registration began. Thanks everyone for choosing glaze for summer camp classes. We have three classes that are already full. No worries, those same classes are offered 2 other times. Just don’t wait to long!

I returned on Tuesday from a mini convention in Salina, Kansas. Every time I attend these events, I can’t help but walk away with so many great ideas and new projects. My favorite new idea is glass fused letters. I’m sure you noticed the big change in our glass room. This is because glass fusing has become so popular we needed additional room. Now up to six people can do glass all at the same time comfortably. I plan to get fused letter samples done over the weekend so look for them sometime next week.

Feel free to share any comments, suggesstions, or concearns you may have. We are constantly changing and are always open to ideas for improvment. Happy Spring! XO-
